I have take a ton of Jess Simms classes and love her, but would like to branch out. If I love Jess, who else might I love?
Thanks! |
Rad and Daniel! Daniel will kick your butt but you'll be laughing too hard to notice until the end. And I also have liked the new instructor, Logan, so far! |
Jess for strength (assuming you mean Flash15/Flash45) is kind of unique on the platform. She pushes so hard during strength - it's more of a HIIT cardio vibe. Daniel can sometimes get close but you might just want to sort by bootcamps to get the same effect. Tunde has some bike bootcamps I like and Adrian has Tread bootcamps. |
Jess is far and away my favorite for strength, and I find the HIIT vibe varies somewhat by type of class. The full body classes definitely are like that, with the EMOMs, AMRAPs, compound movements, etc. The ones that are specifically lower or upper body or core focus are less like that. I try to mix those up, so I get a variety of exercises. |
I suggest you join the group Hardcore on the Floor on Facebook or instagram. The admin is a personal trainer and creates a calendar of Peloton strength classes for each day of the month. It’s a good way to get introduced to a variety of instructions and classes. |
^^a variety of instructors |
Honestly they are all good - and their class structures vary each time so I would check the class details to see if it’s something that fits with your style. Even the instructors I don’t love personality wise (Olivia) offer some of the best workouts that I’ve bookmarked. I would recommend Rebecca Kennedy though - she does some more complicated movements lately, has some great training tips in her class!
I also follow the hard core on the floor calendar that PP mentioned, which is fantastic for getting you to try all the instructors. Takes the guesswork out of picking a class each day. |
I've heard about this, but I really don't want to do strength daily. I try for 3 times a week. |
Robin Arzon is really good. Andy is kind of annoying but he gives the best tips on form— he is probably the most knowledgeable instructor.
Rad and Daniel are fun and help get through their tough workouts. I like Olivia, too. |
Callie and Adrian are my favorites, but honestly, they're all good. Even Rebecca Kennedy, when she's not trying too hard, is good with strength. |
Rad, Callie, Selena (esp for glutes and legs), Adrian |
It incorporates 2 rest days, so you can just use it as a guide. Personally I mix and match, using the calendar for classes and stacks but I sub classes when I’ve already done the recommended class before. I also don’t like barre and yoga, so I skip those too. Good way to try out different instructors and short classes stacked. I also started out on peloton doing Jess Sims 30 min full body classes over and over, but there also came a point in time I had to branch out. |
That makes sense, I’ll take a look- thanks! |
I'm doing the strength-roll call classes right now. It's a variety of instructors. I also really like Ben Alldis. |
It would be easy to do only 3 days. The basic structure is M - Legs/ Tu - Arms/ W - Full Body/ Th - Rest/ F - Legs/ Sa - Arms/ Su - Rest So you could just shoot for one day of legs, one day of arms and one full body very easily. |
