Wilson / Jackson-Reed Teacher saying slurs

Anonymous
Today at Wilson a white teacher was apparently saying the n-word with -er. I’m not really sure what is happening with the school and how they are addressing this but my child has said that all posts on social media had to be deleted or the student is at risk of suspension. Does anyone have any info?? This is crazy. I

Have you tried speaking to the school? It’s pretty unfair to crowd source from an anonymous site what someone apparently said

Your post says it was a teacher and then one sentence later says the post had to be deleted or the student would be suspended. Was it a teacher or a student?

OP please clarify. It is extremely defamatory to claim a teacher said a racial slur if it was really a student.

Op: “I want to know how the school is handling it but I also don’t care enough about it to ask the school so I’ll just post on DCUM and hope everyone else gets angry enough to call and find out.”

I saw the video. Black student angrily calls a White teacher the N-word. Teacher replies, "I'm not a n---." Student then tells the teacher, who happens to be gay, "Your life don't matter. You're a f-- [homophobic slur]." Teacher lost composure but it's not like the teacher called anyone the term. The student called him the term and he just repeated it to reject it. Lots of smoke but hardly any fire.

How and why is this being put on video?

Whichever student or students videoed this exchange should be held accountable.

Student in class recorded it and put it on instagram. It was later removed.

This teacher is a good man. He was called a f-ing (F word - homophobic slur & to suck private parts). This particular student has told this teacher and his co-teacher to “F off” all semester. He is teaching and being videotaped. I hope you volunteer to be in the classroom. We have fifteen calendar days and we have been serving your children. Walk a mile in his shoes.

The students who SAID it should be held accountable.

Wow. Not surprising teachers are quitting if they have to put up with this all year. That kid should be suspended - out of school - for the rest of the year. If they are a senior, their diploma should be withheld until a proper consequence is brought.

But nothing will happen to that student. Nothing. The school cannot protect students or teachers.

💯 This is a FULL STOP situation. That student should not be allowed in that teacher’s classroom again without a behavior specialist right there and an actionable behavior plan that includes expulsion. This is abusive.

What teachers have to put up with is just unbearable.
