For those of you don't know the game, touch (or tag or "FIT") rugby is a safe, simple, and energetic game. It differs from standard rugby in that players tag rather than tackle one another. It is similar to flag football as there a line of scrimmage and teams have a set number of downs before the ball must be turned over, but differs in that there is no quarterback and players cannot pass (or knock) the ball forward. "Run forward, pass backwards" is the mantra!

As players are constantly on the move, touch rugby is a great way to build fitness and carries few of the injury risks associated with other sports. More about info on the game can be found here: https://youtu.be/7y0khk3Lh-o

So it’s Rugby League?

Teach them to tackle. Don’t bother with this touch stuff.

Rugby is a safer game than American football. Less concussion risk because of the tackling methods, No forward pass and no helmets (which encourage concussions).

It’s good for some heads to get knocked together in a scrum!

But for God’s sake, teach them union, not League. Hell, even 7s is better than League!
