Anyone's kids come home and tell them about the 40 person fight outside of Wakefield right after school? Pretty scary after what happened in Alexandria last week. |
Interesting - what time after school? I was there at 3:20 and there was barely anyone around |
I’m a teacher there and our principal was attacked during |
Apparently the principal was injured breaking it up. These kids are out of control over there. |
Why isn’t this in the news? Isn’t this school down the street from achs? |
I don’t know what your definition of “down the street” is but both are proximate to Route 7? |
It didn’t involve a knife or death, unlike ACHS. sadly fighting is common and not newsworthy. |
I used to live in fairlington and the schools seemed equidistant to me in opposite directions. Just wondering if the same kids were involved in each incident. |
They are 2.5 miles apart. You are reaching. The WHS fight involved Wakefield students. The ACHS fight was off campus at McDonalds. Why would you assume it’s the same kids? |
Raleigh and NYC are equidistant to me in opposite directions. |
I think what a pp means is was did the wakefield fight also involve members of ms-13? |
They are a few miles apart. so yeah they are "down the street" from each other. What a bizarre thing to argue about... Both schools are similarly situated in terms of demographics. Wakefield so far just has less kids. The situation is going to get worse at Wakefield next year bc of the easy availability of transfers to W-L and no need to go into the IB program to transfer. This will divert students who are coming into 9th and I think there will be some upperclassmen transfers as well. |
I had not heard that the ACHS fight involved ms-13. |
Are you suggesting all the “nice” kids will transfer? |
I don't think that's confirmed in any way. But it was certainly neighborhood "gang" related. The rough kids from one section of town fight with the rough kids from another section of town, in gangs. Is it the same organization? That's not confrimed. But yes, retaliation was certainly part of why ACHS went virtual afterwards. They've arrested the attacked so that's good news. |
