I am trying to get in touch with the return to school line. They specifically told me they’d be open today to clear my kid who had Covid to return to school tomorrow. No one is picking up or calling me back. How much of a challenge is this going to be tomorrow? Definitely Time for this kid to go back to school! If I don’t hear from them, I am planning to bring him anyway - he’s been symptom free for days. |
I have the exact same problem! They told me my DD could go back tomorrow (Tuesday), masked, as long as she was better. I’m planning on sending her even if I don’t have a letter. |
I had to call last sunday and leave a message – they called back in about 2 hours and once I talked to a human, they sent the clearance letter over right away. It was just a sunday, though, and not a holiday – so maybe that's different, somehow? But if they told you to call today, I hope they are just tied up with calls.
They told me the nurse triage line opens at 6:30am, so while it's a PITA to wait, if they don't call tonight, plan to call first thing tomorrow. |
I’m the PP - thanks for this. I’ve called twice today but no call back. I’ll plan to call first thing tomorrow. |
OP here and I haven’t heard back either. I will also call first thing in the morning but… my kid is going to school. |
I eventually did get a call back and a letter |
Can symptomatic kids get tested at syphax? Or is that for test to stay? |
^curative was closed today 😩 |
Just send them back. There is no more protocol at our school. They don’t require anything. |
We didn’t get a letter- just returned to school on the date they were cleared for. As long as your kid can wear a mask- we had a kindergartner sent home to do a 10 day isolation because he wouldn’t keep his mask on when he returned after 5 days. |
Anyone have the number for the return to school line? Just talk to the contact tracing people and they were of no help! |
+1 (703) 215-9009 |
This. I don't think there ever was a protocol. The first-period teachers aren't demanding "clearance letters" from anyone. No one is standing at the door of the school with some kind of list. Is this actually happening anywhere in APS? |
Yes I think this is correct. At this point they are sort of floating off some loose enforcement earlier in the year. I was sending my kid's PCR test results every time they were out sick for awhile. 2 weeks ago I just sent her back to school. No issue. Did I ever have to send the results? I have no idea! Another parent told me I had to, so I did, but I never got any sort of acknowledgement or direction. I stopped filling out the health screener too after doing it every school day. It just seemed useless, which it is. |
OMG - I stopped filling out the health screener when they no longer required it for entry on the school buses. |
