Lots of swelling and elevated blood pressure. I had been slowly swelling up for weeks, and then all of a sudden I gained like 15 pounds of water weight and my face was extremely swollen. I was also seeing a lot of spots.
Other than that I felt fine, which surprised my doc because my blood pressure was in erosive territory. What symptoms are you having? |
Seizure territory, not erosive, ha. |
| For me, I had some 3rd tri projectile vomiting that my providers told me was just regular pregnancy stuff. It was usually connected to very stressful situations, so in retrospect I may have vomited when my BP spiked. My baby was IUGR. I was exremely tired. The day that I had my appointment that led to me being sent to L&D at 27w, I remember walking up a flight of stairs so slowly and stopping on each stair to life my foot. Once I was in the hospital I had headache and floaters and the day before they decided to deliver, impending doom. I wasn't scared but I felt that I was dying (it's hard to explain). |
| Return of nausea and migraines, without a history of migraines. Besides that, I felt totally fine most of the time. |

Had it twice (somehow skipped it with my second pregnancy). First time I didn’t feel off, but my feet, hands, and face swelled up suddenly at 37 weeks. I went for my check up and my OB sent me to the hospital for induction because my BP was over the threshold (and I’d reached our 37 week goal).
With my third, I had a few ocular migraines (no pain, just seeing large spots/light sensitivity) once my BP began creeping up. I woke up early around 38 weeks and could barely see, so I went to triage and they did a c-section within a few hours. |
| I didn't have any symptoms at all. |
|
I didn't realize it until I got to the Dr and my BP was 210/110.
It was very scary. Pregnancy is no joke. |
| Woke up shivering and feeling like I suddenly had a bad case of flu. Felt like I had been hit by a truck. |
|
I knew I had high BP and protein in urine from regular appointments but didn't feel weird until I started getting terrible headaches. At first it was when I was more active and later became constant. I don't normally have headaches, but
I called it the darkness bc it was so bad at the end. |
| Cousin had a nosebleed that would not stop no matter what. She happened to have a routine prenatal appointment that day and had her preemie that day via C. |
| What happens if you get pre-eclampsia before viability? |
They usually monitor you and have you check your BP at home. They don’t always have to deliver the baby right away. |
|
I felt like something was off in my body. Stomach ache, just like, unease. I had gained a lot of weight between monthly appointments as well despite gaining at a very steady normal pace up to then.
When I had HELLP I had the upper quadrant pain |
| I had basically no symptoms until BAM my postpartum pre-e hit and it felt like I was having a panic attack. |
