how come no summer camps ask for medical forms?

First year sending my k kid to summer camp, and none of the 4 full day summer camps that I signed up for multiple weeks have send me information that I need to have pediatrician filled out any forms?

Is that the norm or should I follow up with them?

That is normal. It’s just 4-days. If everyone had to get a pediatrician signature, no one would go to the camp. I’m pretty sure that you do have to fill out something indicating whether your child has allergies and any medical conditions that would impact their presence at the camp.

Is there a question asking if your kid is in a local school system? Ours do anxx so then the assumption is that if you have filled those forms in you’ve had checkups, shots etc for the school.

All of mine have medical forms, but I just pull the records from our on-line account. Does not need pediatric signature except for overnight

OP here. I meant I signed her up for 10 weeks of 4 different full day camps, 4 weeks of 1 camp, 2 weeks of 1 camp, 2 weeks of 1 camp, and 2 weeks of 1 camp.

Ours does, at least, we have to complete medical history forms, although they don't require a pediatrician's signature the way school does.

I do need signed forms for one of my kids, who has to have an EpiPen at camp.

This was our experience. If your kid was not enrolled in the county schools you needed to submit medical documents.

It varies. My kid is going to 3 camps. One camp has medical forms the ped needs to sign. One camp has a form for me to fill out about allergies. One camp has no forms.

I fill out forms about my kids medical histories for camp, But the only form the pediatrician needs to sign is if medications are being administered at camp.

We normally get the forms emailed to us a few weeks before the camps start and you bring them the first day. We ask the Doctor to fill out the schools medical paper work every year at his well visit and use that for camp forms, works like a charm. If you ask for it at your child's well visit there is not an extra charge to have it done.

We live in DC and our kid goes to camp in Maryland. For that camp I've always been asked for an immunization record, since he's not in MCPS.

There is an additional medical form that does not need to be signed by the Dr.

If your kid has any medical issues or allergies and you need the camp to be aware of them you had better call.

In Virginia and all my kid's camps (some county-run, some private) require the state of Virginia school medical forms. They are the same ones that they often fill out at checkups, and include immunization records. I just get one set and copy or email them to each camp.
