| He is suspected of having cushing's but the opthamologist says my 12 yr old terrier is good to go. Has anyone had any experience in the coming year or years after cataract surgery? Who did you see? |

Yes, we did had it on our 10 year old dog. Dr. Weight in Annapolis is amazing.
The first month is rough after surgery but he did really well. It is totally worth it. |
Ugh - grammar. We had it done is what I meant. |
How long ago and were they honest about outcomes? |
| We used Dr. Smith in Gaithersburg for our dogs cataracts. Unfortunately for our dog, his eyes wouldn't dilate enough so only one eye could be done and could not put a lens in. But - it still changed my dogs life, from being completely blind to seeing enough to go down steps and take long walks again. He gets drops every single day. He was 9 when he had the surgery. |

How long ago did my dog have the surgery? Maybe 5 years. The dog only lived 3-4 more years and yes, they were very honest. Much like humans, nothing is guaranteed but my dog's case was very clear. We acquired him at 10, he had heavy cataracts when we adopted him and no other issues. My dog had never seen us as he had the cataracts when we adopted him - his eyes were totally white. I have the sweetest video of him coming in the room after the surgery and running towards me with clear eyes. There is no question the results were amazing. |
