An email with Home about this approximately a week ago. I think they’re following the five day isolation guidelines

For students, go here: https://www.fcps.edu/return-school/health-and-safety-guidance-document

Look under the Care Room heading which is the second “block” and has a section for students who test positive.

I cannot answer for staff policies or how they are the same or different.

For students, it is 5 days of isolation and masks for days 6-10. Not being enforced very well.

Who cares? They likely aren’t contagious anymore. I’m pretty sure I have kids with Covid because they aren’t sick enough for parents to keep them home and definitely not testing them. Staying home 5 days is enough.

Even when testing positive on a contagiousness test?

My DD was still testing positive on day 8 on a rapid. I kept her home until she was negative.

DC1 was home for 10 days before fcps changed from 10 days to 5 days. DC2 was home for 7 days including weekend under the new 5 days isolation policy. Both still wears masks like before. Pediatrician said once a person caught Covid it could test positive for 90 days so we didn’t retest, and school also said they didn’t need negative pcr.

Tag Along Question - when the kids are in their 5 days of isolation, are the teachers supposed to send home work so the kids can keep up??? Thanks!

We're not doing close contact anymore for vaccinated kids, right?

I have a high schooler in isolation right now. They are supposed to set up streaming, although they have 3 days to do it which is most of isolation. They are also supposed to check in with the kid every other day, which could involve giving assignments.

No one at the schools or health departments is looking into close contacts at this point. It’s up to you whether you notify your kids’ friends/classmates.

I'm actually the one that was notified. My child is vaccinated and exhibiting no symptoms (plus is pretty good about wearing his mask).

The 1st day of my DCs isolation we asked DCs to emails all Their teachers to inform them DCs are in isolation until which date, so if there’s any school work DCs can do at home please email to DCs or have we parents go pick up. Teachers were all very supportive and emailed assignments or post videos on schoology or had us picked us work at front office to do at home.
