How long did loss of taste and smell last for you?

I have tested positive for Covid, and one of my symptoms is a loss of taste and smell. I’m wondering how long I can expect this to last. Google tells me most people recover within four weeks which still seems like a long time! Did loss of taste and smell last for several weeks for you?

About 2 weeks. But it started to come back a bit after a little over one. And it was completely gone up to that point. Couldn’t taste or smell a thing.

My mother is on year two of not tasting anything at all. Long covid is real.

Less than a week for me, maybe 2 days completely gone.

Sense of smell has still not come back, had COVID last July.

Taste came back sooner. Taste was 2 weeks. Smell was about 3. I never completely lost taste, I could taste on the far ranges of sweet and sour, but nothing in between. Smell was completely gone.

It took me about 4 or 5 weeks. But I would say it only came back about 80%. I had covid back in November.

Mine were gone only about 48 hours.

Tested positive on 4/11, lost all sense of taste and smell a week later. Today, smell is in consistent in that I can smell some things, but not others. Taste is 80% of normal.

My cousin lost his in Oct 2020 and ny best friend in Dec 2020. Both say food tastes either like metal or dirt. My cousin had me smell a cooler of rancid deer meat because he couldn’t tell if it had gone bad and he wanted to process and freeze it.

Never happened to me. Happened to family during delta - 2 weeks, my sister did have phantom smells for 6 months after

Lost taste in smell back in October. Still can't smell or taste everything, what I can taste, taste like trash and everything I can smell all smells the same instead of what its supposed to smell like. And that same weird smell is exactly what some of my food taste like. Lettuce taste absolutely horrible now but the same way lettuce taste now, my coffee for example taste and smell the same way.
