| I am beside myself. I paid a hefty deposit and am not sure how this will end up. |
| Presumably they sent you the picture specifically to find out if you were happy with the progress. I'd contact them ASAP and describe the difference between what you were expecting and what you are seeing in the photo. |
|
Or OP changed his/her mind in which case nothing to be done about it.
|
I did not change my mind. I have a call set for tomorrow. Fingers crossed. |
| What’s the problem? |
| Haha wasn’t clear from title you were purchasing it and I came to post about an absolutely revolting countertop material I saw in a design magazine. (Blue Roma quartzite if you’re curious.) |
| How different is it from what you requested? Did you see pictures of examples before hand? |
+1 ? |
| The planks used are uneven in color so it looks farmhouse not modern. I always try to get off the shelf because I am extremely picky, but I couldn’t find a table in the size we needed. |
Did you tell them you wanted a contemporary, modern look though? |
We have a custom bench that the original orderer rejected b/c it has burned knots in it and they didn’t want the rustic look. We just wanted an bench with leaves and the stain matched our set. Tell them. They can sell it to someone else just fine. |
Can you go see it in person? Maybe the picture is bad and it will look better in person. This is in the back of my mind too. We had a custom table made and I haven't seen it yet. I picked out the wood type and approved the stain color after many go rounds but I'm dreading it's not what I pictured. We also want modern and not farmhouse. It's coming in soon. Post again if you get this resolved. I'd be interested to hear what happens. |
I knew this would be the stone you were referring to, though I didn't remember it by name. Saw some slabs when we were picking out our slab.... it was actually nice in person but definitely not for everyone (it's not what we got but could see that slab was a love/hate thing... DH and I stood there a long time trying to decide which side it fell on for us). |
| Going custom is always a gamble. I know this from personal experience. |
Going custom require a very careful write up of specs. And, yes, one-off pieces will have some unique aspects. I have three and all three were fine. |
