More new Central Office positions for next year:

| I'm glad that I'm not the only one that read it that way. Is she really justifying needing MORE people in central? She has no idea what the system needs. |
|
Exactly. 🙄
More people unconnected to the classroom. More funds going to high wage employees rather than students. Such a joke. |
|
Everything old is new again. Dr. McKnight was herself once the deputy superintendent, Dr. Zuckerman was the chief operating officer, and Dr. Navarro was the chief academic officer. Those three positions were eliminated during the last restructuring.
It looks like they're renaming Chief of Teaching, Learning and Schools to Chief of School Support and Well-being, and the associate superintendents and directors likewise. |
|
These positions on the existing chart appear to have been downgraded or eliminated:
Associate Superintendent of Student and Family Support and Engagement Assistant Chief of Teaching, Learning, and Schools Assistant Chief of Professional Learning and Development |
Awesome. Just what our kids need. More employees in Central Office which means less money for classroom teachers and aides. Yay! /sarcasm |
| It'll be interesting to see the HR appointments at next Tuesday's BOE meeting. There'll probably be a long list of people getting new titles. |
They just renamed a couple of those... |
|
So pointless. Teachers need more support, not more bosses!
Meanwhile, there are 14 COVID cases at our elementary school, and because MCPS isn’t doing contact tracing anymore, we have no idea if these cases are in our daughter’s classroom. Where masking is now optional. :primal scream: |
| Any new guidance counselors or school psychologists? |
Oh yeah and reduction in class sizes too
|
Are you kidding??? All Dr. McKnight wants is more $$$ for Central Office friends. More staff who actually works with kids is what is needed but who cares what parents and teachers think would improve education. |
| More money. Different titles. Same public education system being flushed down the toilet. Who looses? Students. |
Students have been the losers in MCPS for the past decade. Poor leadership, an overly large school district and corruption have all combined to result in a rapid decline. |
