The Nerve of Pampers

Anonymous
Ok, Pampers re-tweeted this blogpost. SHAME ON YOU PAMPERS FOR Retweeting crap a non-diapering parent would write.

http://truthorscare2.blogspot.com/2010/05/diapers-new-battleground.html

This mom seems to think it's BS that our kids are getting diapers rashes and we are suspecting the DRY MAX diapers. The joke is, she doesn't have small children in diapers! This apparently gives her the authority to call parents with babies idiots!

I'll tell you what, whether there's anything to the Dry Max story or not, I think Pampers is handling this whole thing very, very poorly.

Agreed. I think the public response of Pampers - to come out and call the mothers liars and gold diggers - will do more to hurt P&G in the long run well after this issue with the Dry Max has been put to rest.

My infant experienced a very strange rash after wearing just 1 of the new Dry Max diapers. It was unlike anything I have ever seen. I switched him to Huggies. If Pampers had acted like any other company under suspicion of possible harm to the public and issued a recall and refund, I probably would have considered using one of their other non dry-max diaper products. Now I will never, ever use another Pamper product again.

OP again. It makes me angry that Pampers and the woman writing that blog think that, as parents, we are not able to determine whether or not a rash is from food, illness, sitting in poop. If I have three brands of diapers in my house and my child is only getting the red rash when wearing the dry max, they are not sick and have not eaten acidic foods, why would they insinuate that I donot know where the rash is coming from?

I am furious with them. I did call the CPSC and file a complaint. I hope the product is pulled and Pampers recants that there is no issue.

There is a woman who strapped a wet Dry Max diaper to her leg for a few hours to see what would happen, and the results were shocking.

I like this comment:

Oh my freaking lord. This is beyond hellish. Those poor babies! Lets strap the diapers onto the P&G execs and see how they do.

I have not yet tried the new dry max diapers, so I don't really have an opinion on them. Has anyone seen any articles on current sales figures for the product? I have a feeling that dry max would go the way of "new coke" if sales markedly decline.

Wow!

I like the PP also about attaching the diapers to the executive's to see how they do.

This mess has just convinced us to switch to 7th generation--which I now realize we should have done long ago for many reasons. But I agree, Pampers handling it all very badly.

And actually, I'll give a plug for Nature Babycare diapers - they're pretty good! All cotton etc.

made the switch to 7th G before we got new pampers and therefore before DS could get the rash. thanks to the mom-o-sphere for calling this one out.

OP here, this is what we switched to. A little thick but at least they aren't causing crazy chemical rashes.

What is even more shocking is that the blog the linked to is a crazy, right wing, anti-environmentalist, climate change denier. I looked at her blog. There is no science behind anything she blathers, just vitriol. Shame on pampers indeed.
