| Is this a thing? My dd plans to do the poster and pictures and ask another girl. I thought the girl was a friend, and daughter told me shes a friend, and this is typical that girls go as friends. Is it? |
| I’m not sure. But does it matter? It sounds fun and nice your daughter wants to make her friend feel special. |
| No, doesn’t matter. Kind of proud of her. I just wasn’t sure if it’s a thing. |
| She is so brave! |
| My dd’s friend did a poster for my DD and they are straight friends who are just going to dinner together before the dance. I think it’s a good sign that this generation isn’t as worried about being labeled. |
| I’ve seen it but it’s more rare. |
| Mine did! This was a few years ago. Dd straight and had bf at time but he was out of town for prom so she prom-posed to best friend and made it a fun joyful thing ( singing in tutus during a theatre rehearsal.) |
| It’s typical they go as friends. I don’t know about the promposals for that but I also don’t know what’s typical anymore. |
|
yes, this is ok.
Six years ago one girl on my D soccer team asked another girl with a promproposal and all the girls cheered and the girl was soooo happy. I asked my D if they were gay and she said no, they were just going together. Since then, I have heard of several others friends asking friends. Its just a nice way for kids to still enjoy the event and have fun with a friend. |
| Wbat do you mean by the poster? |
|
Poster says something like "PROM?"
|
| Yes they make poster with flowers or candy or something. And then they share on social media. |
| That sounds so cute and fun! |
| Mine is t old enough for that yet but she got the equivalent for the homecoming dance. She loved it and has the poster hanging on her wall. |
| Because being seen as "maybe gay" is cool to teen girls. |
