Our DD is going for the first time this year. We don't know anyone going, and have only heard third-hand reviews.
Can anyone comment on it from recent experiences? I searched the archives and everything there was very dated. Thanks! |

Our kids went last summer and it was FANTASTIC. They seriously have something for every interest, and it’s in a beautiful setting. After the pandemic year, I was so grateful for my kids to have two weeks screen free and in the woods. We got pictures every day and it was clear they were having a blast. They came home full of camp songs and a zillion stories.

We love it - this will be my kids’ 4th year there - would have been 5th if they hadn’t had to close due to the pandemic. I think it’s a wonderful place for kids. |
| I'm so happy to read this. DS (11) is going for 2 weeks. Are your kids taking the bus there? DS insisted b/c he wanted to "start making new friends and getting to know the other kids right away." |
| My kids had a blast— two girls, 9 and 13. Going again this year for two weeks. |
I have a 10 year old going for one week for the first time. He isn't taking the bus there (But will take it home). Not sure what week you are going, but if its the week of June 26th my kid will be there and loves to make friends

| DD went. She had less enthusiasm then the above posters. She went for two weeks. The weekends are pretty focused on the kids coming and going. Not much for the stayers. Not much in the way of camp traditions. I tell people that it is a good place to try out sleep over camp for a week...but then go somewhere else for longer. |
Adding...everyone was new or did not know anyone from last year. I think that added to the lack of continuity between summers or even weeks. |
| My daughter went for the last week of camp a few years ago--most people had been there for the previous week and had their buddies already, so that was less than optimal. Also she felt like the counselors were over the whole thing and were ready to wrap up. |
| My son (10) went for the last week last year and had a great time. There were campers there from the week before, but also some there just for that week in his cabin. Counselors were great. Based on the photos, it looked like a great time. He liked the combination of nature type play, with some amenities like the pool. |
| Our family has been going since 2018. All three of our kids love it. |
| Any updates on Camp Hidden Meadows? Do others find the 2-week stay difficult (because of lack of continuity between the weeks)? |
Last year they grouped together the two week campers in cabins and one week campers into cabins, so that the two weekers didn't have to start over getting to know their bunkmates. The weekends are fun at the camp, more relaxing than the week, but still with tons to do. My kid loves Camp Hidden Meadows. |
From original post, in 2022 the camp transitioned directors which may have affected review. Since transition my kids have loved CHM more than anything. They are creating new traditions, new programing, and continue to hire great staff. Depending on what week your child goes the transition on the weekend can very but remains fun for the kids. |
My kiddo loved it. No issues with the two-week stay. She asked to stay for a month this summer and said most kids stay longer than two weeks. |
