Portrayal of Infidelity in movies or TV

Anonymous
I am a betrayed spouse, and have always been curious about interpretations of infidelity on screen. Any movies or TV show recommendations where the subject is dealt with in an interesting or profound way?

I am also a betrayed spouse and enjoyed Doctor Foster.

The Betty Broderick series is a good one. So is Unfaithful. Be aware, these movies can be really triggering.

Infidelity is glamorized. Fantasy fictions.

These have a female-based infidelity theme which you may find interesting:

Indecent Proposal (1993)
Unfaithful (2002)
Bridges of Madison County (1995)
Color Purple

Here's a couple of oldies from the '40s:

Indiscretion of American Wife (Montgomery Clift)
Brief Encounter (1945)

Another Woman, starring Gena Rowlands.

It’s “interesting” and “profound” because the couple there are anomalous in all ways - much more of a fantasy than almost anything else listed.

Can confirm what PP said -- The Split is a good series. Fully drawn characters, not The Sinned Against and The Sinning

Also, Meryl Streep and Robert Diniro's Falling in Love

I'm sorry you're going through this, OP.
