GDS had at least 4 kids get in,
Sidwell had over a dozen applicants, none got in Is GDS more creative? |
| You could equally easily ask why GDS's top kids chose to apply to Brown and Sidwell's didn't. |
| You could, but that would be wrong. |
Other thread stated 16 kids applied to brown from sidwell ED and all deferred/denied. So they did apply. |
| Could be that Sidwell kids in the past that have gotten into Brown previously chose not to go - so this year's class paid the price. |
| The real question is, who would want GDS or Brown? |
Were they the top 16 kids? So, no kids in the top 10% applied to other schools? |
There are a number of kids from Sidwell going to Brown this year. Just because it isn't on instagram doesn't mean it isn't happening. There are also SFS kids who got into Brown, but are going to other (non-Ivy) schools. |
| Bedtime, honey! |
Oh please all schools tend to favor students from certain schools. I am sure Sidwell does well at ivies that gds does not get accepted to as much. Wouldn’t read too much into it and I do not have a student at either. |
| Creative at what? echo chamber art? |

GDS did really, really well this year. Maybe because they have less grade deflation and also because their kids are more likely to be involved in social justice extracurriculars which are en vogue with colleges.
I have a kid at STA and the admits across the board are not half as good at GDS OR Sidwell. The student/athelete prep boy persona did not seem to go over well this year. |
What are you basing this on? Where do you see a list with all 125 SFS seniors? |
Have a younger STA kid and am curious - did the kids do poorly across the board? Heard of some pretty good admits but maybe those were recruited athletes? Did the really academic boys do poorly? Such a bummer for how much they work. |
Why would you believe a random anonymous poster on the Internet over what you are hearing yourself? |
