Recommend a diet to me that provides food?

Anonymous
I need a diet that will provide at least lunches and some snacks to me. I am just too busy to handle meal prep for those meals. Optavia looks like it provides several meals. I know this isn’t a long term solution but I just need something to get me going. I also workout and run 3-4 days a week, so I’m worried that Optavia says no exercise for the first two weeks. Any other suggestions for diets that provide meals? Thanks!

Optavia is terrible for you & is mostly soy based & very low calories. Plus it's an MLM.

I'd go for a meal delivery service with real food like Mighty Meals (under 500 cal option) if you are local to the DMV.

They have a pre-packaged snack section too, but I'd just buy some greek yogurts, nuts or pre cut veggies & fruit with a side of cheese.

Do you know if there is a dietitian in the area that they work with? I would love to combine the meals with some actual nutritional help.

They also have a bunch of blogs posts on metabolism based eating & nutrition coaching, so looks like if you sift through you can find some names. I would also just reach out to the company and ask if they have any recommendations. They have an active Instagram account. I like their food because it's healthy and it tastes good & it's a local business, as well as - IMO - reasonably priced.

You can buy Weight Watchers or lean cuisine frozen dinners.

there are a bunch of good meal delivery services that might not be part of a "diet" per se but are very tasty and helpful in meal planning and counting calories/carbs/whatever. Factor 75 is excellent and has keto and other specific meals, and locally Vegetable + Butcher is also very good and more veggie-based.

This. Decide for yourself what traits your food should have (e.g. 20 grams of protein for a meal, 5 grams of protein for a snack, low carb, whatever) and find a couple things that fit in those parameters (e.g. lean cuisine frozen meals with microwave-steamed broccoli or green beans for lunch; Quest protein chips or a cheese stick for your snacks).

Just go to Trader Joe's and buy a bunch of those pre-bagged salads and vegetable combos. Add a lean protein and there is your lunch. You could add canned tuna or pre-cooked chicken breasts. Watch the dressing! If it comes with dressing toss it and make your own or look for a low-calorie dressing. You can hard-boil eggs on Sunday to eat for a snack during the week. Or pick up some non-fat Greek yogurt and berries. You can do this yourself!

I have used Diet to Go. Local, fresh delivery food. I have done Keto and low fat. I can only do it for up to a month or two at a time but often kick starts me into doing better on my own after. We I do it I go all in (3 meals, 7 days a week) but that isn't required. Isn't the best food ever but serves its purpose (low fat tastes better than keto version to me but I lost more on keto and kept it off despite transitioning to healthy eating but not keto on my own).
