Language immersion programs/hear anything?

Anyone hear if they gone in or waitlisted???
Anonymous
Not yet, but I thought the ETA was closer to the 15th-20th of May. Good luck!

OP here, sorry I meant "got"
Looks like I might need a grammar immersion program

Yeah, they torment us by saying things will be mailed in "early May," but I think it's more like mid-May. Ahem, Not that I've searched the archives to find out when people started posting about results in previous years or anything...

If you get rejected, will you also get notification? just curious

Yes, everyone gets letters. If I understand it correctly, there are no "rejections" per se--you either are accepted or assigned a number on the wait list.

I thought they notified you through email 1st?

Got our notice. Waitlisted everywhere. Does anyone know how much movement there tends to be in the waitlist? I'm feeling pretty disappointed right now.

I think it is unacceptable that these programs wait until the middle of May to even send out acceptances. By that time, one has only a couple of weeks to visit the school (again -- yes, I went to the open house, but would not accept without asking more questions ...) And those who might get offered a spot after the initial round of accept/declines have little time to make a decision or visit school in session. Plus the kids have very little time to adjust to the change. My son has been asking questions for months about where he will be next fall, and we are only able to provide vague answers because we don't want him to get adjusted to the idea of his homeschool only to have that change (or vice versa).

For the immersion programs, the admissions decision mailing is so late, that parents either have to choose to skip kindergarten orientation at their home school or to send their child and then risk having to tell the child, "oops you're not going to that school after all."

What on earth are these people doing that they can't get their act together any earlier than mid-May?

Question for 14:42: was your notice through the mail or email?

Saw this and headed straight to our mailbox.

Waitlisted at all 3 to which we applied, with zero hope of getting off the waitlist (waitlist # 84, 94, and 187). C'est la vie!
