| We’re down to these two completely interchangeable names and can’t decide. We have an Italian last name (three syllables) but are definitely American. |
| Luc is pronounced Luck. |
| it will be pronounced Luck here in the States. Don't do this |
| Either but spell the nickname Luke if that's how you want it to be pronounced. I, an American with no knowledge of Italian, would pronounce Luc as Luck. Not sure how you want it pronounced. I think Luca nn Luke would be fine for an Italian-American kid. |
| I'm confused how Luc and Luke are pronounced differently. I do agree that most Americans would say Luck. |
|
I like Luc, and would pronounce it Luke. Especially with an Italian last name.
Lucas if you must, with Luc as a nickname. |
Luca if you must. But Luc is just fine IMO |
Luc in French or italian would be pronounced Luke, but even I looked at Luc and said "Luck". It will be a lifetime of correcting people |
|
I have never heard Luc pronounced Luck, ever, always Luke.
|
Agree. I'm not even "well traveled", but Luc is always Luke. |
| Luc just looks incomplete and weird and lots of people will pronounce it luck |
| Honestly Luc makes me think of Jean-Luc Picard. |
| Luke. |
This |
Agree with this. Luca, nn Luc. |
