| He is vetoing a record number of bills passed by the General Assembly and has unilaterally changed the schedule for the Loudoun SB elections. |
|
I get enraged every time I see his smug face.
F the F outta Virginia. Especially northern Virginia, where most of the dupes live. |
Might want to get your facts straight before you continue to spout out nonsense. He didn't unilaterally change the schedule for elections. He sent changes back to legislature to review and vote on. If the changes have enough support (e.g., votes), then it'll happen. But that's how the process works. |
Agree. |
Why did he amend a bill at the last minute that was passed with bipartisan support? If he wanted to propose that change, he could have worked with legislators to do it during the session. But he didn’t want to do the work, he just wants publicity. |
| He’s king of the Trumphumpers. |
| What a shitty governor. |
| You people are so far left it's actually pretty funny reading your unhinged, nonsense posts. OP - how about some actual links or examples of what you're outraged about? What bills did he veto? |
| Yawn. |
There is nothing unusual about a governor submitting amendments to bills and they often occur within the last day or hours before the deadline. This process seems similar to that of recent governors. He did veto more than Northam it seems, but that is his right. And as the PP wrote, the legislature comes back next month and votes yay or nay on the vetoes and amendments. And with a split house/senate, all of the bills were passed with bipartisan support. By your logic, he should not have vetoed or amended any bills. |
OP your outrage is severely misguided. The Constitution of Virginia sets the rules for the process which the PP laid out for you. This is how it happens with each Gov. When received the agog can amend, sign or veto. You also failed to mention he signed 700 bills. Doesn't fit your narrative I guess. |
Oh, is your Google broken? Not OP, but this was the first hit when I searched “Youngkin vetos”: https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2022/04/12/youngkin-veto-general-assembly-loudoun-schools/ It provides examples of bills with broad bipartisan support vetoed by Youngkin and statistics on how not only is Youngkin being very aggressive in his vetos and amendments, but also how he is using them to target Democrats in the General Assembly, at times in very petty and vindictive ways. |
| Young-king, after all. |
I agree that unilaterally doesn't mean what you think it is means. It's up for a vote now - the exact opposite of unilateral. |
