It was clearly a message to Trump. Her statement was pretty close to the other first ladies, she may not be a saint (or hell, even a good person) but she didn't like this policy. And she has been giving him little FUs through her clothing for months. They are not happily marries (obvi).

There are widespread reports of her openly weeping on election night. She made a statement earlier this week that perhaps didn't openly criticize Trump but certainly broke with the party line. And she's a model who has used fashion to make statements since she has been first lady.

She might be a gold digging model from slovenia but I think you're giving her too little credit. You don't go on a walk to AF1 (especially after the heels incident in houston which they DEFINITELY listened to because she wasn't wearing them in subsequent shots) in a jacket that says that during this week unless you have something to say. And I really can't think of a rationale behind it being towards the incarcerated families and children considering the purpose of the trip.

I don't think its that secret of a message hahahaha. I imagine that he threatened her that he would divorce her or deport her or take away her credit card if she made a show of going against his administration (which this trip clearly did). And she was saying, 'I don't really care what you think of me, do you care about anything?" Or she was looking for a jacket that conveyed the message of a middle finger and didn't worry too much if it was the perfect fit.
