Or they were just messed up from things in life that have nothing to do with a child. A baby isn't the cure-all nor what everyone wants and craves. It's so funny here at DCUM how some of you cling to that. |
Starting off your perspective with this is a real riot. You have to be a little needy and in desperation for validation to be in a sorority AND still caring about your 'sisters' life choices in their 30s. *whispers* the problem might be yoooooooou. |

"California Sober" is the dumbest denial ever. Signed, someone from California.
This girl is not only annoying, she's our of her mind. |
+1. This doesn't seem like it will end well. |

I keep forgetting that she had serious brain injury and damage from the OD- not just the OD itself. Yeah, her personality is likely forever changed as is her decision making, etc (not that maybe it was the best before, but this is now also a physical brain issue, not one you can talk yourself out of in therapy as much)
California sober is an interesting concept. I drink maybe 2-3 drinks a week and have maybe 2-3 hits off a joint a week (or most often I do just one or the other or have like 1 wine, 1 hit on a Friday and Saturday night)...I would NOT consider myself sober. I also have adult weekends away and such where I have more than that, but in general I'm a moderate user of both at best. But that's not anything remotely close to sober IMO. I can't imagine going up to a mormon person and thinking "OK I'm basically as sober as them" as I pop a weed mint and watch 90s comedies. I feel bad. She will probably not have a long life. |
Sorry, we aren't all embracing eating disorders anymore. That is so early 2000s. You can have a normal (not stick thin) figure and still be healthy. Demi has a perfectly normal body, and she doesn't have to condemn herself to misery or eating disorders because she is not a size 2. Is her body larger than probably her entire friend and contemporary group, though? Probably yes, and that can be really tough. I think she should stick to having her groceries and food delivered. |
No one is saying embrace eating disorders, we can all agree on that. This incident, let's all be honest, is about way more than this girl's diet. She needs mental help and probably to get out of the spotlight for good. Of course, her social media has been a narcissistic feed for years now and I don't think she can leave the attention even if she thinks she wants to. |
There’s a big gap between dieting and eating disorders. Newsflash - you can watch your diet and still be healthy. In fact, you can watch your diet and be MORE healthy than you were in the first place. That is what many, many Americans need to do. I don’t see any problem with a non-diabetic person choosing sugar free froyo to avoid sugar. And no one said anything about how thin she needs to be. But there is nothing inherently bad about watching what you eat. She has her own problems and maybe she shouldn’t be doing that for her own mental health, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t generally be encouraging people to watch what they eat so they aren’t obese. I’d have more sympathy for these celebrities claiming to be body shamed and low self esteem if they weren’t themselves all made up, photo shopped, and contributing to the current unrealistic expectations of women. |
So this |
How unbelievably self-centered of her. If she’s “triggered” by this, she needs to stay out of stores, bakeries, ice cream shops, etc. The world does not revolve around her.
