Dh 30, BA in automotive technology and now works in the alternative fuel industry $130k

Me 30, BA in psychology, $40k in 2020 but $110k expected this year and I only work 15-20 flex hours from home, 2 kids, no childcare...honestly: hustle and dumb luck.

Me - 35, in-house lawyer. 320 base plus 20% bonus

Husband - 40, only has a BA, works in sales for digital marketing company. 340 base plus commission — usually another 100k.

We both had elements of luck in getting these current jobs.

What subject and what kind of summer jobs? DH is a tenured professor making 130k for the nine month contract, but somehow he makes only 25-30k over the summer by some gigs.... would you share some tips to increase outside income?

Thanks!

Untenured prof; 150K 9-month; ~30-50k summer depending on grant awards. Will start consulting IF I make tenure. Rates ~300-500/hr in my industry for not-too-famous people.

What Industry is that and how old are you?

CS; background was in tech - took a 50% salary cut from my pre-PhD job. I enjoy it.

Yes; but only since you can't read the title of the post. FYI: 500K is more than 300K

Can’t judge how rich you are from your salary. If you spend it down, you are no richer than someone who makes less but saves.

No, it’s extremely rare for a new CS graduate to start at 100k. Maybe the top 2-4%.

It is pretty common, check out glassdoor.
