Normal teen boys tap dance in hallways?

Does tap dancing make you gay? That was one scene and while it was her bday, have you seen promposals.

Why can’t they tone it down 2-3 notches so it’s not so eye rollingly unrealistic.

1. he looks 30+
2. he gives off a gay vibe - nothing wrong with that, but he's not for Ginny.
3. they have no chemistry. It makes me uncomfortable in the forced kiss scenes.

Especially #3.

The lack of chemistry is intentional. Ginny's true love is Marcus because he's messed up like she is. They get each other. Hunter is perfect on paper but he's not her penguin. But did anyone think this show is so problematic on the way out handles race? Not just Ginny but also Hunter.

Unless he turns out gay, then it’s a bad casting, IMO.

Especially after tap dancing in the hallway.

Yeah he gives off super gay vibes. Bad casting.

I swear Maxine called him non-binary early on...

So where were Ginny and Austin going at the end?

And why would Georgia ever get involved with a politician knowing the scrutiny she’d be under?

And who doesn’t hear their loud broken motorcycle going out?!

High schools have all the different groups.
Georgia got wrapped up in this one and marched up right away with Hunter despite that being totally forced. This happens in Hs friend groups, it’s usually not so cringe my tho. They must have told him to smile all the time, to be extra creepy.

Marcus needs more airtime for season 2, he is truly authentic and empathetic.

I agree that they had no chemistry. I couldn't understand why he was considered cool when he was so corny. The tap dancing bit was mortifying.
But Ginny and Marcus were fire. They looked like teen love. They looked at each other the way I felt at that age with my first love - and trust me, I can remember!

So true so true!! College for me, got a stuck dating a fellow track member in HS/ no chemistry.
Night and date versus actual chemistry - psychologically, emotionally, Physically, sexually.

Arch’s was right again, ponytail w/o a personality. Total tool.

Hung out with the misfit group “because of what he and they went through a few years back.”

I'd say minimum 16. The sex talk is explicit.

At 13, I had a row of scars up my arms from cutting, plus a few burns from Bic lighters .
At 14, I was on Lithium and in outpatient treatment for self harm.
At 15, I was on birth control and having sex with my high school boyfriend.
At 16, I was smoking weed with my brother on the way to school and getting blackout drunk on the weekends.
At 17, I moved on to Adderall.
At 18, I was doing coke.
At 21, I graduated from a state school.
At 25, I graduated with my MS from a different state school.
At 30, I was a director in a global corporation.

The content is far more realistic than what most adults want to acknowledge, and it may surprise you what "successful adults" did as teenagers.

Do you really think what you did was typical of a teenager?

NP but yes. I was a relatively tame kid but my younger sister and her friends were doing coke, shrooms, drinking, smoking weed and having sex from ~15-16 onwards. This was a wealthy UMC school and they all went on to go to decent colleges. Of her friend group from that time there are a bunch of lawyers, PhDs, a couple physicians, a high school psychologist, a fairly successful actress, a few in consulting and finance, and all of them are well-adjusted and self sufficient adults. When our brother was doing his degree in finance at a top school the cocaine use was out of control among his crew. They are all successful.

True for me, too. Lawyer at a big firm. Did all of this and more.

I am very late to this party - just stumbled across this show and watched all ten episodes in about three or four days. I have a huge crush on Felix Mallard (Marcus) because of his work on the Harry Styles sitcom that was (unfortunately) only one season, Happy Together.

Yeah, Hunter the Boyfriend was not at all hot. Why is Georgia so resistant to Austin getting therapy? Is she worried he'll tell her secrets? Is Ginny burning her lower stomach or upper thighs? So pumped for Season 2, which is being filmed in Canada now. BTW, I love the hot mess Maxine is - I know and have known girls like this, and they are SO much fun! Does anyone think Joe will tell Georgia about their connection in the next season?
