Is something wrong with me for answering “none.” ?

I’m seriously asking.

I was sad when my dad died, but if a celebrity death affected me it was truly for not being able to selfishly enjoy more of their work.

Anthony Bourdain
The only celebrity death that made me cry. His books and shows so resonated with me. I adored his sarcasm and wit. There are others who travel and cook, but none of them comes close to what Anthony offered.

Robin Williams.

David Bowie and Alan Rickman (Snape).

I remember that my grandmother was really upset when Bing Crosby died. My parents' generation were shocked about Elvis.

Naya Rivera in July. I can’t imagine how hard it was for her son to watch her drown in front of him, it hits me viscerally when I think of it.

Not at all. No one has the capacity to be seriously affected by the death of everyone they've ever heard of. People are only affected by the passing of celebs who for whatever reason, touched their lives in an oddly personal way. For me, it was Anthony Bourdain - I read his books just when I was developing a love of cooking, and the combination of his humor, flaws and talent really drew me in. There's nothing wrong with not having a celebrity affect your life that way.

OK. Let's be very clear about this. Alan Rickman is *not* to be remembered as Snape. He is and always will be Hans Gruber, the villain in the greatest action movie of all time.

Prince. I think about him often and every time I hear his music, my heart aches.

+1 - the question was impact. When Steve Irwin died, it was like, sighhhhh. Ughhhh.
When David Bowie died, I remember researching Iman and where they lived in NY, their daughter, and just being really happy that they were in love together at the end. I don't think I realized it was a long term serious relationship. So, you know, it impacted me enough to google.

I loved him in the Robin Hood movie - just posted “fall off Christmas” to my Facebook the other day

I hadn't really watched Chadwick Boseman (although I knew of him, of course), but I am a colon cancer survivor myself and the same age as him, so that one hit hard. So much talent, so young. Just so unfair.

Agree with George Michael. Spent so much of my youth watching his videos. Just loved him and wanted to see him in concert at least one more time. So talented, but he lived hard
