Terrible actress but good writer. And I think she would probably agree. |
Totally disagree about Tina Fey and I love her in 30 Rock especially.
But I love this thread. Everyone has a different idea of what is good. That’s cool. |
I DID NOT KNOW that everyone felt this way! I feel so much better! Thank you! And yes it is great in spite of her. That raining line. That raining line. Ugh stab me. |
Monica and Ross were brother and sister, so they wouldn't have changed friend groups from high school. Ross and Chandler were roommates. Remember the Miami Vice clothes they wore in the Thanksgiving flashback scene? And Ross was in love with Rachel since high school. Why would they change friend groups? |
To the people pissed bc Friends isn’t loved by everyone. It absolutely was a stolen idea. It wasn’t original and it wasn’t creative. It is widely known and has been discussed that the creator stole the idea from Living Single and was jealous of Living Single.
Six white people living in NYC. Yeah that screams original and witty. ![]() |
So Friends is a good show bc it didn’t have a star? It wasn’t stolen from Queen Latifah. The creator of friends stole the concept bc he knew with an all white cast white people would watch it and it would be successful. Didn’t matter the characters were idiots and the storylines were dumb. He knew white people would love to see average white people doing average things. |
Lots of shows, movies and musicians are very successful. Does that automatically mean they are good, talented and deserving automatic praise? Friends and Taylor Swift suck to me. They will always suck to me. Now do I get why each is successful? Yep, I do. Society likes easy and average things. Society will promote and push the hell out of mediocrity. |
I love reality TV. All of it. I watch most of the shows on Bravo, some TLC, CBS, VH1 and MTV. |
I'm the PP who posted that link. Yeah, SNL is rarely very funny but when it is, they can really nail things, like "The Beygency," though that was a few years ago. Now, I only bother to watch the political cold opens on YouTube after they air. And this may or may not fit the "unpopular opinions" theme, but SNL was dumb to let Taran Killam (in the Beygency clip) go, though some reports say he wanted out anyway. There are some big Pete Davidson fans on this forum, and my unpopular opinion is that he has no talent other than his single-joke stoner shtick. |
He isn’t funny and he is disgustingly unattractive. |
+1 DCUM makes my opinion on him seem unpopular but I like to believe the rest of world can’t stand him either. |
Yep, I'm a PP above and I wonder why SNL keeps him on year after year. I seriously wonder if he has the goods on someone at NBC. I know there's a lot of sympathy for him as a person, which is understandable (his firefighter dad was tragically killed on 9/11--yes, genuinely sad) but that alone cannot be the reason they keep him on television. |
Supposedly, Jeanne Tripplehorn had originally been cast in that role but had to drop out, and McDowell was the last-minute replacement. I agree that McDowell was terrible, but I think the writing for that character was also terrible. |
Forrest Gump is a terrible movie and Tom Hanks is a one dimensional actor. |
Ryan Gosling isn't even remotely attractive. He looks like a pointy ferret. |
