They didn’t really announce anything other than future plans to retire the name and logo at the conclusion of their review. That’s very ambiguous and open ended. There is no date. Nothing is done.

Read elsewhere they they have chosen the new name but there are trademark issues to work through hence the delay.

I liked the Potomacs; this name was discussed a couple years ago as a possibility.

That said, it’s also referencing the Native American tribe that was dominant in this area. Not sure how well that will play. My guess is the franchise will want a clean break from Native American references.
