Help! When does the pain end for the baby? I've been in tears...

Just wanted to say that I have been thinking about you. I hope you are making some positive progress.

I am so worried not having heard back from her in so long. I really do pray (and send positive thoughts, if prayer is not your thing) to her family every time I think of them, which is often. OP, I do hope you'll check in with us when you can. I hope to god the doctors have figured out what's going on!

OP, how is it going?

You should ask about alternating prevacid and zantac for the first month to handle breakthrough pain. My guy ended up on 4ml of prevacid twice a day and 2.5 ml of zantac twice a day...alternating every four hours. He was finally pain free in about 2 weeks.

Doesn't sound like your dosing is high enough. Dr. Pluta from Georgetown has been our little one's GI and she's done a tremendous job. Try to get in to see her for a second opinion.

mylanta cherry flavor saved my sanity and my baby. It really worked like a charm.

pp here again, I skipped the zantax all together even though it was prescribed. I just used the mylanta cherry flavor.

Maybe just try breast feeding and get rid of the bottle. He sounds confused. Some babies can not switch back and forth. Pick a way and stick with it

Have you not read any of this thread?

Mylanta didn't help OP (although it totally helped my kid).

I think there are issues other than reflux going on, there was concern about swallowing, coordinating suck, swallow, breathe, it's complicated.

Sending lots of good wishes out to you OP and especially to your little boys.

Has anyone suggested possible mito issues?

I had two reflux babies and it is nerve wrecking- only prevacid solutabs worked but after months of trying everything- had barium test, PH probe.. our poor kids! I was on call constantly just to make sure my DC1 would drink anything at anytime- she is not a picky eater and screams at new foods.. DC2 was the opposite- gorged just to get the nasty tastea way- and fortunately, we had a ped GI appt just in case and was on watch... great eater.. eats our food..

I hope OP can update us- hope all is well by now.. (or as well as it can be).. please update us!
