Didn't Mikea ask for stories first? Then the family had a story for her? |
I think he's back, now sober. |
| I really don’t think there’s a conspiracy going on. But The reporter, the station and the media in general was absolutely wrong for running with the story without verifying the facts. They put this girls face, name and life out there for people to sympathize with. What channel 9 and the reporter need to do is be extremely transparent about what happened and not bury the story deep in the website. I need to be more than a simple little paragraph. Public trust is huge and right now they are deep in a hole, especially the reporter. |
They are worried about potential lawsuits, not just from the boys’’ families but from the girl as well. Probably the school too. Not sure if criminal charges are out of the question at this point. That might be a concern too. They’ve made a nice mess for themselves that is for sure. |
|
Criminal charges for what?
The girl admitted she made it up and lied to everybody so what crime was committed by the folks who believed her? |
+1 There are much bigger issues to worry about. |
Lying to a police officer. |
The boys (from what I saw) were not named so not sure if they could sue but they should sue the family of the girl for all of it at least for attorney fees and pain/suffering. |
The 12 year old is not the one who put this out there on the news. She talked to her good family friend the reporter but ultimately the reporter is the one responsible for blasting her face and her story all over the nation if not all over the world. |
Its probably Keratin, not relaxer. |
| There is a huge difference between natural hair care and unkept hair. That poor child's hair is a disaster. Dreads require a lot of maintenance and it didn't look like the family was doing it at all. I'm surprised the school allowed it or they didn't want trouble. She probably wanted it changed, adults said no. She was probably teased about it. She probably cut it and then got in trouble and then blamed the boys as her out not to get in trouble. Then, the family escalated it and she didn't know how to get out of it and kept with the story. Lots of kids do that but the difference is it doesn't escalate to slander to three innocent boys on the media. She should be expelled from the school. She broke their behavior code. |
+1 Let's try to stop this insanity before it becomes an epidemic of lies and false reports |
The girl deserved to be expelled, no doubt about that. |
And there’s irrefutable proof the reporter knew it was a lie? What evidence/testimony confirms this? |
Please don't play dumb. Previous PP said the reporter was RESPONSIBLE for it, and she is. It's her job to ensure she reports facts, not falsehoods. |
