Come on. You cannot be this dense. Take a look at any of the top teams in ANY older age group in almost EVERY geographic area and you will find very few of those players started on that team. Most kids will play locally at first since the families have no idea how serious their child is going to be. Some will stay local a little longer for friendships or a coach but eventually the talent consolidates and it certainly doesn't consolidate equally. Great falls and vsa are not collecting talent. That is flat out stupid to say.

FCV teams have been steadily being primarily home grown talent over the last few years. The 07’s having added only a couple of outside kids. How many left Loudoun, VSA, McLean for FCV 07?

Years ago half a FCV roster came from outside clubs. This year only a couple. The thing that changed was players on good teams now with pathways stayed with their home club. Like it or not, the numbers and the new landscape doesn’t lie.

FCV, just like everyone else will more than ever have to rely on their U Little recruitment as later recruiting gets harder with more and more competition.

There are also some very big changes coming in FCV's future with the eventual changing their location and their overall talent pool. Eventually heading to Springfield will certainly help Loudoun.

These things could also help FCV but it is far from certain how the move will truly help or hurt FCV. But one thing is coming pretty clear and that is the Loudoun player pool is starting to dry up for them with Loudoun getting ECNL. Loudoun coaches may not be nearly as good as FCV's but regardless, as long as the parents and players are happy it is talent that FCV will not get their hands on.

Regardless, the DA teams (STJ/FCV and Arlingtion) in any age group will continue to be among the top 3 teams every year in the area unless something drastically changes in the landscape. MU is an exception because GFR is not a DA level club. MU needs a bigger stronger partner to survive.

Having a bad U Little feeder team in a crowded landscape where many clubs have a carrot to offer is exactly that drastic thing. Teams tend to stay together if they are successful and nothing is pushing them out the door.

GFR currently has a in house DA. Exactly what would be the reason for kids to leave that team for a bad team? What exactly is the lure? Did that lure work with Loudoun this year as it had in years past?

When a team gets their ass kicked at these ages an ambitious parent usually calls the winning teams coach. That is how good core teams add talent over the years.

“We killed that team 11-0, let’s call up and see if they have a spot on the roster” said no parent ever.

Feeder club means nothing for DAs. NOTHING. DCU has no feeder club. Bethesda draws from all across the area and even Pennsylvania. FCV has players from Williamsburg.

I heard that Loudoun lost multiple 07 players to other clubs between last year and this year. But most likely all those players were so bad that they were on the verge of being asked to leave the program anyway...

When I'm talking about how many Loudoun 07's left, I mean Loudoun Red/ECNL 07's. I'm sure FCV had quite a turnout of Loudoun Silver players at their DA tryouts.

The 03 boys went 1-1 this weekend to open the NPL season.

They only lost two games when it won the league last year and one of those was a forfeit in the final game when it had first place wrapped up.

With the history of politics in player placement at Loudoun, that’s not necessary such a bad thing. They have good players and not so good players on many colors over there.
