| The children where taken out of the school by the mother when the injuries kept occurring. First her son was taking out two weeks after the bar after sustaining unexplained injuries at the school then her daughter after all failed attempts to mediate back when the barring occurred and she tired to mediated the situation but the school refused to meet. The school didn’t try to resolve this matter. This Mother was very involved with the schools progression and funding efforts. She is a highly educated professional and was a very active parent in the school and she is very active in the development of her community. She is from Capitol Hill and has multiple address for mailing and business purposes. |
She’s not from the Hill if the kids are actually zoned for Harris. There’s a lot of insider info on this thread that is conflicting and (at least) some of which must be wrong. |
| Completely unacceptable on Stokes’ part. Was the teacher fired? There should be a zero tolerance policy for pushing, hitting, etc. She should have pressed charges against the teacher. |
| I know her she is from the Hill and her family is as well. This is completely wrong of stokes especially after she helped them so much and it was just wrong how they treated her kids. Our family knew her and her kids. I wasn’t surprised to see her as a room parent at stokes or on the fundraising team. I can’t believe after all the involvement she did at our Childern’s previous school and all her involvement at stokes I’m floored they treated her this way. She has multiple properties and I believe they just had the house on the hill remodeled. I was their when the school called the meeting after this happened. It was sad because the school didn’t invite her like they did the rest of the school and when she did arrive they tired to silence her in the meeting. The old head of the board even grabbed her arm in front of the whole room! It was not a good look and parents there spoke out about them bullying her. It wasn’t just her daughter that was harmed, but what happened to her son was even more terrible. She found out late about the meeting, because someone had called her. The way they treated her in that meeting was wrong and not inviting her was sneaky. She was emotional and seeking answers and reached out to all the parents for support. She has a great reputation in the city and is an awesome mom, friend, and professional. My heart goes out to her family. No one deserves this and definitely no child. Stokes should be ashamed of themselves. I can’t imagine how hard this is for them. |
Why is anyone dredging up a nearly two month old post to defend the mom, not to share an update or ask a question about the lawsuit? Is this you, Nykia? |
The most recent posts are 1-2 days old |
She or her friends just found this post that’s why. |
Wow. Talk about sneaky in how Stokes handled the meeting and not informing her. At least there were many witnesses to how the school handled the meeting and some parents spoke out at the meeting about the bullying. Easy enough to call witnesses about above should the case go to court. |
| I feel terrible for this lady. Clearly she’s trying to do what is best for her kids and feels that her name is being dragged through the mud. I hope this lawsuit settles soon and this situation doesn’t happen again. |

The video is back up and I just watched it. The teacher definitely pushed the child and she was just sitting there while they talked to her. Saw nothing that even warranted it. Even if she was talking back at all which you can’t tell, it was inexcusable.
I would be very angry if that happened to any child, let alone mine. And for the school to completely deny it makes it all the more troubling. |
| I looked at the video. It didn't look like the child was pushed. Am I confused? |
You must be, or you didn't watch to the end. The video is 26 seconds long and the action is at 00:24-25. |
|
No sign of aggression from the child. You can’t hear the conversation but my guess is that the staff was likely lecturing the child or maybe telling her she should not do something. The child started to get up, and the staff clearly and forcefully pushed her back on the couch. No doubt about it. It was quick and forceful. Did not give the child any time to react or even resist.

Appalled that it happened.
Even more appalling that the school denied it without even investigating it or looking at their video to support denial. Most appalling is how the mother advocated for what she thought was inappropriate behavior at her child and informed the parent community of such concerns (as a parent, yes I want to know about it). Apparently this was not the only isolated incidence either. She was not afraid to bring the issue up to the community and school and I would have totally done the same thing. Then the school deceivingly called a meeting about the mother without informing her of such to ban her for 5 years from the school. The bottom line was a total failure and lack of character, credibility, and trustworthiness from the leaders of Stokes. They not only failed this parent and her child, they failed the school community in doing the right thing and following appropriate protocols for her evaluation requests. Actions speaks louder than words. Doesn’t look like too hard of a case to win, and I don’t even know the half of the things they said or did to her and the bullying, etc.... |
I’d be mad as heck if I was the mom. And honestly even though I doubt being shoved back on a couch will traumatize her for life, banning the mom is a huge trauma. Im glad she’s suing. |
