1-MATCHED for Prek3 IB for Van Ness

Others were the usual menu of CH schools + a few others: Tyler, Peabody, SWS, MV, Stokes, ITDS, Brent, etc.

We're happy.

4. Lee Brookland, #104
5. DCB, #228
6. MV 8th, #140

... at least we don't have to monitor wait lists over the summer?

Our numbers are very close. We also marched Burroughs.

1. ITS #133
2. TR 4th #142
3. Lee Brookland #102
4. EL Haynes #78

Looks like the only school we are waitlisted for that we have a shot at is Langley #17. Debating whether to stay at our day care that has subsidized tuition for PK3 and try again next year. Would make drop off and pick up easier for our second that is due over the summer. Burroughs is fine, but I feel like we could probably get in next year or K if we didn’t get in somewhere else.

Congratulations on the new arrival!! I feel the same way--Burroughs is fine, but I'm not excited about it. Our beloved daycare doesn't go through PK, but we'll likely be offered a spot at the really nice preschool at my husband's office ... it'll be fine, it just stinks to see all those wonderful schools and not even get close!

In the meantime, I hope you get off the wait list at Langley and/or that a miracle somehow gets us both off the wait list at ITS and Lee

4th grade:

Hearst #18
Murch #20
Eaton #16
Lafayette #17

I felt this way last year as well - that if we’d had these numbers for PK, I would’ve been thrilled but I just don’t see that many families leaving these schools in order to make that number of seats available. And I definitely don’t see enough people turning down offers from these places to move the list to our number.

Hearst Elementary School #3

Eaton Elementary School #3
Lafayette Elementary School #3

Shepherd Elementary School #2

We were there last year (more or less). Matched at Shepherd for 4th grade which we declined. The list did not move at all for Lafayette, Janney, Murch even though we were WL#2 in all of them.

The current 3rd grade at Hearst is pretty big (25 and 26) but Eaton could be a real shot. Well done!

Do we have a shot at DC Bilingual?[/quote

You do not have a shot at DC Bilingual. My kid was #10 one year and we didn't get in. You might get into Creative Minds, which is where we are and love it.

I’m not sure how my daughter keeps lucking up getting these amazing draws, but we matched at MV8th. She’s #6 on the waitlist at DCB for K. She’s currently in prek4 at Stokes and also had a great draw last year.

We will probably keep her at Stokes but it’s nice to have options.

If the Hearst principal accepts anymore OOB kids in 4th next year there may be an open revolt amongst the parents (and teachers!). A mid year year in boundary move would push this class past the breaking point. The classrooms were not physically designed for that many bodies and it has to be a fire code violation. I suspect this is also the case at other schools on this list.

currently at bridges. really enjoy being there and being able to walk to school. But like the higher ratings and grades up to 8th at Inspired. I'm sure we'll make the switch, but never thought this would happen.

We’re #15 at Ross OOB, PK4. We must have gotten a ridiculously high number.
