Let's talk about opiods and c-sections...

Anonymous
I had two c's and I took the opiods for about 5 days"to stay ahead" (my entire midsection was ripped apart, after all) and then I stopped, the end. Threw the rest out. Did not even think about whether it worked or not I was just not interested in taking it longer. Took piles of ibuprofin and recuperated normally.

The problem is people so frequently being given the opioid prescriptions before it's clear that the opioids are even needed.

...until the problem becomes clear at 2 a.m. after you've been released.

BTDT, although not for a C-section. I ended up taking enough Tylenol PM to kill a horse.

+1. They prescribed it for me with both vaginal births, 7 and 4 years ago. I only used ibuprofen.

Ok, go ahead. Go through surgeries, dental work, migraines, flu without meds.
Actually, come to think of it - medicine is a big business too. So go without doctors, nurses, medical attention.
Elderberry syrop for everyone, cheers!

Clearly, you have never been in the sort of pain that makes you wish you were dead while simultaneously hope you aren’t actually dying, because then who would take care of your kids?

Please report back when and if you are ever in that sort of pain.

I’ve been in that sort of pain, I’ve spent 6 months of/on oxy and have had multiple surgeries. I considered killing myself. I also work with addiction, so I feel fairly confident in saying that these drugs are national epidemic. I refused them during my csection. I have taken them since for my reoccurring agonizing lifelong pain, but pain management specialists are much more well versed at working on these issues.

And anyone who writes a mass opioid script and tells you to “stay ahead of the pain” should have their MD license revoked.

Exactly. Thank you.
Btw, I suspect big Pharma tolls this forum,
so everyone beware.

What? I didn’t get a mass opioid script. I got it filed out one by one in the hospital. When I left there was nothing for me. No trolls here

I agree.

Nobody is writing "mass opioid scripts" and saying "stay ahead of the pain!" They don't even say "stay ahead of the pain" anymore, and it was never mass scrips for a csection- it was periodic in the hospital then 10 to 30 after discharge. Come ON.

Tylenol is extremely dangerous to take in large doses. You can overdose and die from tylenol.

Liar. You have no clue how many physicians (and others) are writing mass opioid scripts. Why do you keep lying on this thread? What’s your real motive here?

For csections? “Mass scripts”? No. You have no clue what you’re talking about. “Mass scripts” is not even a thing. And it’s regulated how many you can even fill a prescription for and how often. Please stop spreading your fearmonngering misinformation just because your high school BFF or your uncle Larry or brother Chad died of an overdose and suddenly EVERYONE MUST KNOW OF THIS EPIDEMIC NOW THAT WHITE PEOPLE ARE DYING AND IF YOU GET A CSECTION YOU’LL DIE OF AN OD TOO WITH YOUR MASS SCRIPTS.

+1. The big doses of Tylenol referenced above are way more dangerous
