Coaches are pretty selfish and will pick who they think is better every time---keep in mind--- people may disagree on who is better. I agree if it is close, having an advocate can break a tie. |
Nah. Coaches want their player in the UA game so they can say they can get kids recruited. |
I disagree, coaches want to win. If you win, you will get your players the exposure they want. |
Well you are wrong. They care about exposure over winning. The team with the bullies coach has mostly bullis kids and the team.with the stj coach has mostly stj kids. And each coach that was there to argue for a kid got a kid on the team. Coaches that were not present like sssa did not get on the team. |
Class warfare is alive and well I see. |
I don't disagree that the coaches tend to take more players from their own high school teams. For the record, however, SSSA had two players on each team. Hard to argue with this year's results. |
The results of both UA teams was impressive. The Highlight Division team made it into the championship game and lost by 1 and the Command Division won the championship. I'd state that winning brings exposure AND coaches want to WIN more than wanting exposure. (but winning and exposure and tied together). Here is a link to the 4 championship games.

What is the significance of the July 1st date for D3 recruiting? |
NESCAC schools can make offers to rising Seniors after July 1. |
What is it that they are offering? These schools still have Admissions Departments and an Admissions process, correct? There's no Letter of Intent to sign. So what are prospective players being offered? |
At this point a prospective player has gone through a “pre-read” with Admissions where his grades and scores are evaluated. A positive pre-read doesn’t mean guaranteed admission - - that’s what they tell you — but assuming you apply ED, it is as close to a guarantee as you can get. |
|
PP, you keep posting the same thing over and over about what D3 lax actually “offers.” Let me put it this way, unless your kid commits to a Top 10 D1 program (Hop, Duke, Scuse) or Ivy, I’d rather have my kid play NESCAC or other D3 academic schools. |
A coach brings the athlete's transcript to Admissions over the summer, socializes it with the staff and receives a yes or no, which he communicates to the player. |
17:42, let's answer this once and for all - being recruited by a D3 coach, and getting a green light after a pre-read is priceless - admission to some of the finest academic institutions in the nation. |
