Straight shot up gw parkway. But all the top schools in the DC are just as close. Some closer |
I mean, how long (time wise) is the commute? |
| Via GW Parkway, it is about 20-25 minutes without traffic. Once about 7:15 hits, forget it. At least an hour. Same in the evening. |
They’ll live in Arlington or Alexandria. Potomac sends busses to both cities. |
Live in the vicinity, with no traffic Potomac is 17 minutes, and no way it ever takes an hour. Maybe 35-40 minutes, tops--the biggest bottleneck is at the entrance to the Beltway, and Potomac is before that. |
| Any articles detailing 70 million breakdown? 70M seems extreme. |
|
"In all, the school recognized 78 leadership donors at the dinner; their collective support for the new center totals more than $31 million. Fundraising will continue, as Potomac aims to cover the project’s entire cost of $37 million through philanthropic support."
Not $70M. |

It's so amusing that people send their kids to schools like the Potomac hoping they can secure a place in one of the Ivy bastions of the "academic elite", but at the same time trash the same academic elite as antithetical to their "values" of capitalism and entrepreneurship and want nothing to do with them! If you have such low opinion of them, stay away from their places of work and don't brag about the colleges your kids go to (newsflash: they were created by the despised academic elite). Or better yet, have your kids study at the "University of Life" instead and see how successful they become as capitalists and entrepreneurs... Better not get sick though, because some the same "academic elite" might (God forbid) try some of their cockameme innovations on you to save your life! |
What inventions, collectively, have come out of Gender Studies, Peace Studies, and Critical Theory? |
| This seems like the very definition of frivolous spending. |
Parkway is virtually impassable now both North and South due to the potholes that are proliferating. Potomac should get out there and fill them or the potential students that want from the Amazon area won't be able to make it to the school and back! |
Oooh, you got me there... How many of the “academic elite” in Gender Studies (who barely make mid-five-digit salaries, if they are lucky) can afford to send their kids to $40K schools? I guess there must be many, since they can sustain all those super liberal DC schools, huh? |
How? 100% donor funded. |
| When will this open? |
