can anyone who only has boys ACTUALLY admit they wish they had a girl?

I don't know, my oldest boy is 8 and I am still loving everything about boy clothes. They are so easy, cute, and there are so many options now. I love dressing my boys! On the other hand, I think girl clothes for the most part become super ugly and tacky after toddler age. I hate trying to find clothes for my daughter. The only cute, non-tacky clothing for girls is way overpriced and not readily available.

Boys clothes are usually pretty straight forward. Jeans and tee.

New poster: my daughter is 2 and my son is 4.5, and i LOVE the girl clothes- I do really preppy smocked dresses, mini boden "pinnies" etc. boy clothes are pants and tees, pants and tees. girls have tunics etc. I can imagine though after age 4/5 when she starts wanting to pick her own clothes that they may become more teeny bopper annoying?

Yep, it goes downhill fast once they hit age 4/5. Enjoy it while you can. The simplicity of dressing boys is much preferable when they get older.

I can't imagine anyone saying that they don't want girls... except maybe Asians in the old country.

GL with that, because boys will not take care of you in old age.

Do you READ this site and see how much some of these women hate their mothers?

Seriously, and how many DH's put their mothers ahead of their wives.

I totally disagree. Little girl clothes are awful. Leggings leggings and more leggings. The leggings no longer look cute once the girls or eight or nine but they're still wearing them. Give me fitted joggers, nice sneakers, and a cool looking matching T-shirt on a little boy any day.

I am the PP whose daughter (2) has the cutest wardrobe. Again, smocked dresses, Boden pinnies, a lot of Crewcuts preppy stuff, Janie & Jack dresses or peplum tops etc. She's a total preppy old-fashioned type style...

She's 2. Good luck with that when she starts having her own opinions.

Right!? Hilarious post. "Her" style. OK PP.

I wish I had a girl, but I don't want a third more than I want the girl.

I have two boys and yes, I am sad. However my older DS is 3 and it is not at all true that I can dress him in the clothes I want! He has surprisingly well formed opinions on what to wear and has had them for almost a year. My point is that it is easy to gender stereotype but often they are not true.

I know it's not HER style, but I just mean toddler girl clothes are fun- I chose them all, and they're way cuter than boy clothes

I had family members express overt disappointment that I was having a boy, the first time around, even though we were elated either way. Then when #2 was a boy, I can't believe how many people asked if I'd try for a third to have a girl, instead of saying congratulations. I think it's bizarre and a shame. (Very pleased with my sweet sweet boys.)

I had the same experience in reverse in having two girls, and got a fair amount of "boys are better, how unfortunate you're having girls" projection on to me. People were very disappointed for me and my husband that we were having a second girl, and I was also told I had to have to have a third baby to "give [my] husband a son." Either way I think it's gross.

That's unusual. People always give you a sad face when you say you're having another boy.

It is not unusual. You think people give smiles and a big congratulations on a second girl?

+2

I'm in the hospital after giving birth (to a boy!) and my neighbors had their fourth girl today. They didn't know the gender beforehand and both seem disappointed. People tell me how lucky I am to have "one of each" and probably would question it if I went for a third. You can't win in the court of public opinion.

I'd prefer same sex siblings regardless of gender.
