Why are all of the GOOD public schools only in the Expensive parts of town?

This might not be an option for her. Homes in Shepherd Park start at $600,000 (and, that is no modern finishes/updates) to over $1.2 million.

I don't even think they start at 600K anymore in Shepherd Park. I've seen a couple listed for more than that that need a full gut. This one needs a ton of work and was recently listed for 875K.

That one is a joke. I will eat my hat if it goes for more than 700k. (I live around the corner.) A developer completely ripped out everything that might have given the place value, and replaced it with nothing.

Shepherd park prices are all over the place. Houses are still going for about 600k, but usually only after a few price chops, and I wouldn't count on it for long.

Sort of makes you wonder WTF went wrong that they stopped part way through...

Because about two houses were unavailable for purchase in Dupont Circle, that explains why Vietnamese boat people can achieve academically and Americans can't?

Sorry, not enough dots connected.

We have been looking extensively and that is just not true. I know of two houses that sold in the $650-$700 range but they needed no less than $100-150 in work. You cannot get anything habitable there for under $750k. It's not "affordable". Heck Trinidad is not even affordable.
