Then they are a clueless bunch! Clearly everyone shares everything about this process on DCUM given the anonymous nature of the board. You shouldn't regret sharing -- I assume you got in. If you did, congrats and best wishes there! Just going in eyes wide open about their apparent chaos.

I don't understand the hysteria. Everyone is notified via snail mail. Those that are accepted receive an email with a contract. End of story. This is how it worked last year as well and I don't remember any fuss then. |
I think that the furor is over the misinformed and wrong receptionist in the admissions office who incorrectly told understandably anxious parents that no emails were sent out. |
That's probably true, but regardless of the receptionist's mistake, why can't they just use a portal or send emails to everyone like all the other schools? They wouldn't be getting the anxious phone calls if they notified everyone at once. |
| No skin in the game, and not to be snarky but maybe some of these furious moms attitude is the reason their child didn't get in? |
Then what are you trying to be, exactly? |
Please. That was not nice or necessary. |
| And its completely ok to rain on everyone acepted parade |
? |
I disagree. Parents are at their best during the admissions process. I would be annoyed about this too. Did not apply to GDS, for multiple other reasons, but none of this surprises me. |
| Does GDS wait list everyone? |
| We got in and we're thrilled. It looks like they had a mishap with their notification today. Otherwsie, I heard that GDS is a great school. |
| Great school! Welcome! |
Congrats! We didn't get in, but we really liked it. |

My DS got in- email this morning and snail mail this afternoon. Clearly there was a mix-up with the front desk lady this morning not knowing they were sending emails to accepted families. I know
how stressful this is - might be better next year if they send an email either way. |
