Does anyone else hate lasagna?

Me! Husband thinks I'm nuts but it's just so gross. I love all other Italian food.

American style lasagne is heavy I make traditional Italian style with bolognese sauce and bechamel sauce and usually omit the cheese except a sprinkling of Parmesan on top mit is much lighter.

Ground beef (from my family farm) and 2 jars of Raos marinara.

Thin Layer of sauce, Barilla no cook lasagna noodles, sauce, layer of mozzarella and Parmesan. Noodles, sauce, layer of Cheddar and Parmesan. Noodles, sauce, mozzarella and cheddar and Parmesan. Sprinkle with parsley. Bake at 350 for an hour. You are welcome.

You can omit the beef if you prefer veggie. It is still really good. I cover it with foil for the first part then remove the foil for the last 15 minutes.

If you dislike runny lasagna or ricotta this will tick your boxes.

You never put any beef in it.

I don't like it either. I am glad to know that I'm not the only one. I also can't stand other carb heavy dishes like pastas.

The quality of the ingredients makes a big difference. I like my own lasagna because I use Rao's sauce, ricotta from the farmer's market, and good mozzarella. I'm a snob maybe, but I don't like random lasagna at a PTA meeting or potluck or whatever because people usually use cheaper sugary sauces and cheese that isn't as good. Although if your problem is the texture or the heaviness, that doesn't help. But if it's just the taste, try upgrading your ingredients!

I am not a fan! It's the combo of the cheese and sauce- yuck. Of course, I do love pizza but I'm not a big spaghetti & meatballs person. I like the meatballs but not in a thick red sauce and when I have pasta I like it with butter. Fav meal growing up was fettuccini Alfredo. Can't bring myself to order that anymore with the calories and fat but im always tempted!

Years ago it was tasty. It has gotten... Not.

Yes. I'm afraid they've tried to make it healthier.

If you want to be a snob, you have to make your own sauce.

I'm sad so many don't like this classic, comfort food dish. As PP mentioned, maybe some of you had a dish pepared badly with less than fresh ingredients. There are many ways to prepare this dish, I think some of you had a bad cook/ingredients. Please give it another try.

I have tried, using many different recipes. And Rao's is better

I don't like most common versions. No ricotta! I make delicious vegetarian ones using bechamel and parmigiano cheese, along with seasonal produce and another cheese that pairs well. Try using fresh pasta, it is so much better!
