Do you realize that different dogs have very different coats?

Some breeds were bred to live in warm climates. They have no undercoat. Other dogs were bred to live in cold weather.

Just because your dogs were fine doesn't mean all dogs would be fine.

My husky is very different than my friend's chihuahua. One can take cold temperatures; the other cannot.

Also, different dogs have different temperaments.

And something no one seems to have mentioned: When/where do the dogs go out to urinate or defecate if you leave them alone for 2 days? Do you all have dog doors? Do they pee on the floor?

I don't know why it is so difficult to fathom that what works for one person may not work for another. Same with dogs.
