I don't understand the repetitive argument about if she were a middle class mom no one would give her a second glance. You could say this about a lot of famous people. Lisa Kudrow, Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Cynthia Nixon, Frances McDormand, I can go on and on. The point is, she isn't a middle class mom. She's a very successful woman who has earned her wealth and can look and dress as she damn well pleases. Why are women so hell bent on tearing down another woman?

Furthermore, by the "beauty standards" being implied in this thread the Kardashians should be considered "beautiful". I consider them HIGHLY unattractive pigs.

This is my first time posting on this thread. I like sjp and don’t agree with the comments calling her unattractive but you really upped the nastiness with your “unattractive pigs” comment.

SJP has a great personality and a very strong work ethic. She's maybe one of the hardest workers in the industry. This is why she's done as well as she has.

She also made very smart hiring decisions when it came to stylists. She has had people dress her for her entire career. She invested in stylists early on in her career, probably when she couldn't even really afford it. But it always got her photos in magazines - which women buy. Those photos led to cover stories. Which sold more magazines. Which got her onto SATC and cemented her reputation as a style icon. Which led to more eyeballs from women. You get the picture.

SJP is successful because women are her audience. She's got a face for radio, but managed to do well on the screen because women rabidly consume content (or shoes) featuring SJP. Straight men were never her audience.

Think of SJP as a mannequin come to life. You see the outfit and imagine the outfit looking just as good on your body. SJP embodies many straight white women's hopes.

Yeah weird comparison. Rebekah Neumann has an obvious and cookie cutter nose job, boring hair style, etc. etc. Zero sex appeal, she looks like someone's aunt. Although this is a particularly bad photo of her - I've seen her look better.
