Gorgeous 38 yr old doctor, mom of 3 found dead in NYC building lobby

Both my husband and I are in total different industries but have discovered this enclave of living. You would THINK that people of a certain age and status and income would not be into coke but I have found that not to be the case in my industry (law) and my husband also has mentioned some questionable partying within his industry (mid-high level executives).

My own brother and his work friends are high many weekends (pot and coke) and they're all ER doctors.

Do they stay up until 4:30am partying on the weekends? Do they go to their dealers' apts and take their clothes off and whatnot?

I hate pot but it is not the same as coke. Not even close. Although both involve associating with drug dealers...

not the pp, but of course if they are doing coke they are out until 4:30 AM. That's the whole point. It's interesting to me that there are people in this thread who are so naïve to think this was a date rape situation. I believe that some of the most dangerous situations occur when someone doing coke takes something else to balance out the effect and fall asleep, and OD's

If you see yourself in her, then you are trash too and I hope someone dumps you on the sidewalk eventually.

Uhhh...maybe it's the whole business about her looking put together/healthy and having a full time demanding career plus a beautiful family and house ALL while being a coke head hooker? That would not be an easy combination to pull off. Usually if you are one you can not be the other.

The coke really adds an energy boost to the working mother's busy day. That's why stockbrokers and big law people looooove coke.

My wife's friend died from mixing cocaine and Oxy, he passed in his sleep because he stopped breathing...this doesn't surprise me at all. Respiratory failure from mixing uppers and downers is basic knowledge, and a common side effect.

I suppose I could have gotten into coke, I saw it enough during my partying days. But that was not my thing.

The more I hear about it the more I realize how in over their heads these coke heads can get. It is no way to live your life. If these folks are doing this on the weekends, they are doing it on the weekdays too. And that is where a good chunk of their money is going too. That's scary. And they probably biotch about "only" making 350K too.

Actually you really would not think that...cocaine is the drug of choice for rich successful people. If this was meth or something else THEN you would think that they would not be into it. But in this case, she fits the bill perfectly for a cocaine user.

Isn't alcohol enough of a downer? Do they need pain killers too? I would think it would take some time and quite an addiction to get to that level where you are snorting cocaine and then needing to bring yourself down with a pain killer.

I guess I don't understand why she would have taken a downer while she was still out partying. Was she planning to sleep over at the dealer's house?

Hard, but essentially true.

Now, I assume you'd have no problem saying the same thing about Mike Brown and Freddie Gray, correct?

Great test for the BLM folksies. Do you agree with both statements above?

Maybe she needed to start coming down, so she could make her way home and take care of whatever was on the agenda for Sunday morning. Soccer game? B-day party? who knows?

BTW, why are people calling her a hooker? She was a mom/doctor who partied, did recreational drugs, and perhaps fooled around w/ guys when she did it. How does that make her a hooker? I think a lot of people on this site are really naïve if they find it so hard to believe that was this woman's life. I'm sure there are plenty of other women out there like her.

Have you ever heard of a speedball?

Not PP, but apparently I'm naive or simply live in a very boring social circle. I totally would think that even if you dabbled in drugs as a teen or 20-something that at this stage in someone with a pretty successful life that included small children wouldn't be partying and doing hard-core illegal drugs.

I think they were calling her a hooker because she was found topless with her panties in her purse and was hanging out with a couple of older creeps with whom, presumably, she was exchanging sex for drugs. It doesn't seem likely that she was having an affair with either one of those men...and certainly the way her body was dumped indicates that this was something more sordid than a romantic affair would be.

It makes you sick to think of her poor husband and her family. Good God this is about as tawdry and low as it gets.

Yep. How on earth does someone look like her AND drink heavily, use coke and downers and stay up all night long on the weekends ---- at the age of 38 and with 3 little kids at home. And a demanding career.

You would think that would have landed her in rehab long before she get this hellishly deep.

Geeze, eight pages of wild speculation. This is turning out to be pretty straightforward.

She went out partying with friends, including the HBO producer. They went over to Pepsi's house where she OD'd.

The producer is the one who called 911. He and Pepsi panicked and took off after they got her down stairs.

The neighbors have all been interviewed and it turns out they'd seen her coming and going on occasion for about a year. So that likely makes Pepsi her dealer.

Police are not calling this homicide and there is no evidence of sexual assault. It's just a set of very unfortunate circumstances.
