Neighbor trespassing to pick dandelions - would you be annoyed?

And to the person who thinks they can bill their neighbor for floating seeds? You're an idiot.

THIS. Neighbors who think they *are* the HOA are idiots, for that matter.

You try to look the other way as weeds take over his "lawn," but at some point, the vermin living in the jungle of his yard and the seeds from the weeds spreading over to your property start to get to you. So what should you do?

Vermin? Dandelions spontaneously generate rats? The things I learn on DCUM.

I hate the look of dandelion covered grass, especially the ones that have gone to seed. I also don't care for other weedy plants in the lawn. At our house we prefer a nice, healthy, green, plush lawn - golf course like.

We had that in our former house and this house is a work in progress. There for a while there were more weeds than grass (no exaggeration) but that ratio seems to be improving thank goodness.

As far as my neighbors lawns go ...hell, our own lawn is all I have time to worry about. They can handle their own danged lawns.

For those of you who love a lawn that is virtually impervious to weeds, you might consider zoysia grass. The grass does require a lot of sun and it turns brown in the winter, but it looks gorgeous when it's green and its really plush. It's also really easy to plant; just pull up plugs of dirt with a special hand held tool (which you use standing up) and plant a plug of zoysia. The grass spreads beautifully and will eventually take over the lawn. It's not for everyone, but some of us love it.

you just have the wrong attitude. When i see a slew of the dead ones, my kids and i pick the best ones for making wishes with. Honestly i cannot understand the dandelion hatred.

There is nothing healthy about that kind of lawn.

I really hate elderly people who think the most important issue that working busy families need to take care of is whatever bothers them. She needs to get the fcuk off your lawn and property and mind her own business and I would have no problem telling her.

Is your elderly neighbor senile?

The same Op who says she has an ant problem on her mailbox bc her elderly neighbor puts cookies in there?

I love dandelions.they remind me of the 1970s, when weeds were king.

The alleged trespassing is just one thing. If it's not dandelions, it'll be something else. I'd sell.

+1000. We share a very long split-rail style fence with an elderly neighbor. One of the posts was damaged this winter. We told her my DH would fix it when he had a chance and not to worry about it. She has mentioned it every time we see her for the past month.

100%. Those lawns are not natural and require loads of help and herbicides to look that way. No thanks. And before anyone throws around the accusation that our yard is ugly, we are constantly complemented on it. Even with some of the weeds.
