They are paying for prestige. If you are willing to go to a school that is a step down from the top-ranked school that you can get into, you can often save a lot of money. If you can get into NYU, but they want near full-sticker, you could probably attend one of the better SUNYs for almost nothing. They may not have quite the name recognition, but the top SUNYs are good schools. |
