Sad movie suggestions....

Saddest movie I ever saw was Grave of the Fireflies. It's an animated movie about an orphaned young boy and his toddler sister trying to survive in WW2 Japan. Roger Ebert's review the film (4 out of 4 stars) - http://www.rogerebert.com/reviews/great-movie-grave-of-the-fireflies-1988. My 2nd place would go to Hachi: A Dog's Tale

Aaaahhhh. That was excruciating. I had to stop watching and never did see the rest of the film. I'm still awed by the depth of feeling and devotion of those damned penguin parents.

I agree, especially about Up!

The Sessions, with Helen Hunt. It wasn't sad. It was just so moving. When it was over, I had to go sit by myself on the porch and sob for 20 minutes.

Truly a weird person. Have you seen "Melancholia" or "The Antichrist"? There artistic genius and then there's just sick.

Agree on this one. Great movie.

I agree with the Dear Zachary suggestion. After you get over the shock, I just cried and cried.
