1)MV (2%)
2) Marie Reed Dual (IB) (Pretty sure thing if we are willing to wait until August) 3) Powell Dual Language (0% first round, maybe 25% if we wait until August) 4) Bancroft (0%) 5) Cleveland Dual Language (15%) 6) Ross (0%) 7) Capitol Montessori (12%) 8) DC Bilingual (?) 9) Appletree CH (Pretty sure thing if we wait until August) 10) Lee Montessori (?) Also Lamb (12% if we wait until August), Stokes (0%), and SHIning Stars (30%) My priorities are Spanish immersion (one or two way), followed by Montessori with adjustments for proximity and skewed perceptions of program quality. I have also included my estimated odds of getting into each as a one shot based on fact, rumor, and innuendo. |
| Why does everyone put DC Bilingual down so low below relative to other dual language programs? |
| I'm 19:23. I had heard there were financial issues last year with DC Bilingual, but I may not be operating with the most updated information. |
Why Hearst over Eaton? Just curious. |
Oh good. My evil plan worked

Eaton
Hearst IT MV Shepherd Bridges Oyster-Adams Lee Montessori PK4. We love our current charter school (Shining Stars) but don't know where they will be located next year, so we did the lottery just in case. |
Secret? Shepherd has been educating kids well for decades. |

| It's interesting to see how these lists are playing out. Best wishes to all of us to end up in schools that are a great fit for our kids. |
It's closer, but mostly because it is a small school with small class sizes (K can't get larger than 20 kids -- I didn't find that in any other DCPS). I also like that it offered Spanish, but Eaton does not. |
Go owls! |

PK3, main focus was convenience + language. After the top 3, it's really sort of random and I figured, why not!

Inbound for...? |
| IT is getting a lot more high rankings than I expected. Is it the curriculum/location? Would most people hand put CM above IT of they were in the fray? |
