I heard they were doing an arson investigation. I'm not sure how long that takes, but I would imagine months. Insurance is likely doing an investigation also. Many new houses have been built recently on the same street and in the surrounding neighborhood. Most people don't find any difference between a half mile north of Kirby and a half mile south, besides Kent Gardens vs. Haycock.

Not much difference. North of Kirby off Westmoreland is McLean, south of Kirby off Westmoreland is Falls Church and then Arlington. This house is south of Kirby in FC.

Exactly. Other than the name, what is the difference? Same schools, same tax district, same housing stock, equal amount of teardowns. Driving down Westmoreland, one would never know they crossed from McLean to Falls Church.

Hahaha ha who cares McLean and 22043 are still McLean high school. Langley is the real McLean.

Anything bigger than a 1950's-60's shitshack.

Oh hey, shitshack poster. It's been a while. You off your meds?

Welcome back!! It's been boring without you. Well, at least there's been a lot less profanity.

What are you talking about? You think there is only one person who uses this expression? Seriously? Seems you are the one that needs meds.

You will probably pay more for the McLean address. Several developments in the part of Falls Church/22043 near McLean have "McLean" in their title, but you won't find developments in the part of McLean/22101 near Falls Church with "Falls Church" in their names.

Langley is more like the real Great Falls.

That's stupid. Nobody wants to be that much farther away from work, or live near those weird McMansions that are right next to dumpy little houses.

Not pp but I use shit shack too. More in conversation with my spouse, but it's a common phrase.

The naming has more to do with the schools, tax district, and sports leagues. They say McLean, because it's McLean schools. People in this area purchase there, because it is McLean schools. I'm not sure of the price, as the new builds all seem to be in the $1.2M to $1.7M range. I haven't noticed a difference in price between the Kent Gardens home prices and Haycock home prices. The Haycock area is walkable to the West Falls Church metro, which may be more of a draw for some.

Sometimes, although the naming can also reflect an effort to capitalize on proximity to a more expensive area to justify higher prices. The "Peachtree of McLean" apartment complex sits on Route 7 in Falls Church/22043 near Pimmit Hills, feeds to Marshall, and is not part of the McLean tax district.

Oh no you don't. PP *specifically* stated that there is only *one* other poster on here.

C-U-C-K-O-O.

Oh great - that person who can't properly quote is trying to chime in. Annoying! Until you can handle basic computer functions (clicking a button) then we don't really listen to anything you say.
