Why is there so much racism against Asians?

Asian parents are OK with their kids playing with White kids.
They don't like their kids playing with Black or Hispanic kids.

I blame the Tea Party and their supporters here.

I thought it was more like the liberals who like to take care of the inferior minorities.

The fundamental problem lies with affirmative action immigrant babies of yesteryear who feel affirmative action and the consequent entitlement should last for centuries.

I'm guessing you're Asian.

Huh? This has nothing to do with politics or racism. It is parents who have an agenda for their own children.

I wonder which qualified applicant your token acceptance pushed aside. Many people work hard -- you do not get a free pass because of that. Americans are sadden by your racism after haven been so accepting of you.

Uh, Asian Americans don't get affirmative action; in fact, it's sort of the opposite. So they didn't 'take' anyone's spot.

You are so ignorant it is painful. Yes, they do get affirmative action.

I don't think this is true. Affirmative action actually hurts Asians more than any other group.

Look up "entrance exam hell." It is a well known phenomenon in Japan, Korea and China. And admission to the the IIT's in India is also very competitive and based on entrance exams. So prepping is a way of life for folks from these countries, and the recent immigrants from these countries [which as one poster said above has "skyrocketed" in recent years] have brought their culture here with them. I believe this fact has largely changed the face of public education in Northern Virginia, especially in AAP and TJ. So why is pointing this out is "racist"?

Who would have thunk that there were so many racists here on DCUM. Those attacking Asians and those attacking minorities of other backgrounds belong in the 1950s. It is clear that the US has not moved beyond the racist tendencies that existed mid 20th century. How very sad. And here in Northern VA makes it saddest of all. Those castigating Asians and other minorities (Blacks, Hispanics; who still face many barriers in the workplace) should be ashamed of themselves. I am ashamed to live in the same country as you racists.

apparently a racist is the same as a troll, i.e. someone who says something you don't want to hear.
In response to the OP, being "negative" is not tantaamount to being "racist." Unless all you want to hear is "happy talk."

No PP, a racist is someone who attcks a group of people based solely on their race. Has nothing to do with being negative.

Like Bill Cosby who "attacks" certain behaviors associated with (some) black people; he's racist?
