Is your name "Buffy"?

Please... My husband's ultra-WASP family has 5 women named "Elizabeth' in it. They all have WASP-y nicknames, including "Buffy." (Betts, Buffy, Betty, Bitsy, Boots). Other super-WASPy nicknames are: Kiki, Molly, Kitty, Tippi, (or Tipper), Muffy. It's only "low class" to social climberswho were born without any class.

It's called, a joke. You really know Kitty, Buffy, etc? Ugh that is some high class trash right there.

NP: In my family, we actually have a Muffy, Molly, and Cookie. I find it hard not to laugh at family get togethers. But I refuse, refuse I tell you, to wear Lilly dresses!!

You know what's trashy? "Kristine" instead of "Christine."

I have a y in my name and yes, grew up working class. I've thought about legally removing the y

Missy? Mindy? Lesley? Andy? Jordyn? Yvonne? Yael? Yves?

Missy - dated, not fine
Mindy - ugh
Lesley -- seems like a male spelling; prefer "Leslie" for a girl
Jordyn -- this is pushin' it and trying to be too trendy
Yvonne -- classic name, fine
Yael -- classic name, fine
Yves -- classic name, fine

Lesley is the correct feminine spelling, Leslie is the masculine.

My middle name is Leslie, named after my grandfather.

Actually, you can't get a much higher name than that.

Except her name was Vivian, which is beautiful!

Quite a few queens of England (not even by marriage) went by Mary.

Many French queens went by Marie.

I have not seen a queen on DCUM yet.
